Notice: Constructions in Our Museum

Several constructions as below are carried out in our museum this year. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

1　Path Maintenance (~ until the end of March 2023)
Earth pavement between the Sasaki House and the Yamashita House.
During the construction the Nohara House cannot be visited. Temporary detour may be required.
(The soba restaurant in the Yamashita House are open as usual.)

2　Earthquake Resistant Construction (~ until September 2024)
Earthquake Resistant Construction of the Sakuda House (An important cultural property of Japan).
During the long-term construction, the Sakuda House cannot be visited. Panels explaining the construction will be installed.

3　Roof Re-thatching (~ until the end of March 2023)
Roof Re-thatching of the storehouse on stilts (An important cultural property of Kawasaki City).
The construction can be seen from the path in front of it.
