Annual Event Exhibition “Momo no Sekku – Hinamatsuri (the Girl’s Festival)” February 20~March 4
Hina dolls are displayed to pray for healthy growth and happiness of girls.

Mini-Exhibition at Traditional Indigo Dyeing Workshop “Momo no Sekku – Hinamatsuri (the Girl’s Festival)” January 22 ~ March 2
Indigo-dyed works with patterns associated with the Hinamatsuri (the Girlʼs Festival), together with hina dolls, are on exhibition.

- Fee: Free (inside Dento Kogeikan only) *Admission fee required to visit Nihon Minkaen

Special Exhibition “Long, long ago, an old woman in a village went to the river to do the laundry…: Life with Mountains and Rivers Ⅱ” January 4 ~ May 25
Not too long ago, when mountains and rivers were the most familiar nature surroundings, rivers and irrigation water were directly involved in daily lives. This exhibition displays the folk tools (materials from the Minkaen collection and folklore materials from Kawasaki City) once used in the "living with the river" and introduce the traditional way of life mainly around Kawasaki City. Furthermore, the exhibition will introduce water utilization and water transportation facilities, disaster countermeasures, and traces of faith centered on the Tama River, using photographs, illustrations, and related folk tools, to reconsider coexistence with the environment.
*There are gallery talks presented by a curator, including special versions for children.

November 17 ~ March 2: Special Exhibition: “Yukigakoi (Snow Fence) – the Yamada House -“
Snow fence, a traditional way of protecting folk houses from heavy snow in snowy regions, is reproduced at the Yamada House.
- Date: Sunday, November 17, 2024 ~ Sunday, March 2, 2025 *The snow fence is mounted to the house on November 17, 2024, and is removed on March 2, 2025. The schedule may change depending on weather condition.
- Time: any time during the opening hours
