Beigoma Tournament “the 32th Minkaen Cup”: September 28

Everybody, from elementary school student to adult, can enjoy and challenge!
A tutorial for beginners will be held before the tournament. And beigomas can be purchased on the venue.

  • Date: September 28, 2025 (Sunday) *Canceled if it is rainy.
  • Time: The tutorial 10:30~12:00; The tournament 13:30~14:15 *Reception starts from 13:00
  • Eligibility: elementary school students and older *the presence of the guardian is required for children younger than 3rd grader of elementary school
  • Capacity: 40 participants
  • Admission: Reservation required. Please refer to the web page written in Japanese for reservation and more details.
  • Fee: 100 Yen *Admission fee to the museum required.
  • Venue: 13. the yard of the Hirose House *It may change.

  • It is a condition of participation that you must be able to wrap your own beigoma string.
  • Please refrain from participating if you are not feeling well.
  • Beigomas & cords for rental are not available.
  • The guardian of a young child should wait outside of the space for the tournament.

Annual Event Exhibition “Higan”: September 11 ~ October 7

The display for "Higan" conducted at the Kitamura House in Hadano city is reproduced.
Higan is a week-long seasonal event held in Japan each spring and autumn. It centers on the spring equinox and autumn equinox.

The sickles and others are offered to the deities as a celebration after rice harvest.

Annual Event Exhibition “Jugoya”: September 11 ~ October 7

Rice dumplings, taro potatoes and persimmons are offered to celebrate the “Mid-Autumn moon”.
On the day of “Jugoya”, the 15th day of the 8th month on the lunar calendar, usually there is a full moon on the night sky.
