Autumn Limited-Time Food Truck Grand Open!

The popular "Kominka Cafe," which previously opened for limited periods during spring and autumn, is making a brand-new debut as a "Food Truck" this autumn! We offer a menu perfect for relaxing between walks and tours around the museum. Please feel free to drop by!

• Eating while walking, as well as eating/drinking inside the Main Building exhibition rooms or inside the historic folk houses, is not permitted.
• Please use nearby benches in the museum grounds when enjoying your meals.

［Food Truck "Utsuroi" Operating Schedule］

We exhibit indigo dyed T-shirts with various patterns, which are made by our staff using various techniques.

• Fee: Free (inside Traditional Indigo Dyeing Workshop only). Admission fee required to visit Minkaen

In summer, the shoji (translucent paper sliding door) is replaced with sudo, a door made of fine bamboo strips allowing air to pass through, so that the room becomes airy and cool.
