This is the catalogue of the special exhibition “Household things from long, long ago -Tales that tell of another life-” held from July 1, 2015 to November 29, 2015.

In Nihon Minken there are 25 buildings mostly from the eastern parts of Japan, that have been taken apart and reassembled here. Some of them also brought old tales with them. There stories center around household beings or household things.
In this book we introduce ten old stories. Of course there are many more stories like these in Japan. In many of these stories we learn a lot about life in Japan in former times.
